RRB Group D Selection Process 2025
The RRB Group D 2025 recruitment process consists of multiple stages designed to ensure fair and transparent selection of eligible candidates. The selection process includes the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT):
This is the first stage of the selection process. The CBT is conducted online and includes objective-type multiple-choice questions from four main subjects—Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness related to Current Affairs. The exam is designed to assess a candidate’s problem-solving ability, general knowledge, and basic understanding of science and current topics. Each correct answer carries one mark, while one-third mark is deducted for every wrong answer. - Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test, which assesses a candidate’s physical fitness required for various Group D posts.- For Male Candidates: They must be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters within 2 minutes without putting the weight down, and run a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
- For Female Candidates: They must lift and carry 20 kg of weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes and run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
The PET is only qualifying in nature, and no marks are awarded for this stage.
- Document Verification (DV):
Candidates who clear the PET are called for document verification. During this stage, the candidate’s educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates (if applicable), and other supporting documents are verified. Candidates who fail to produce valid documents may be disqualified even if they have cleared the previous stages. - Medical Examination:
Finally, candidates must undergo a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure they are medically fit for the duties associated with their chosen post. The medical standards vary depending on the type of job profile.
After successful completion of all stages, the final merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the CBT, provided they qualify in PET, DV, and the medical exam. The final appointment is made as per the merit order, category-wise vacancies, and other eligibility conditions.
